A multigenerational family photo session on the Gold Coast
After seeing my photos in an instagram post from a recent family photography session with Natasha, Jarrod and their kids, Natasha’s Mum commented - “Thanks for capturing my grand daughters, Tash and Jarrod so beautifully ❤️”
This comment on my instagram post caught me off guard and it helped me to further understand the impact I am having with my work.
My photos are not just a nice thing for the people in them to look at, there are other people who care about the people in the photos who are also drawing a lot of positive energy from them too.
A few days later Natasha messaged me and said. “Jake! My mum wants to book us all in for a family session at her place while my grandparents are up from Sydney.
This is really exciting for me because now Natasha’s mum (who really loved the photos I made of her daughters family) is going to to be included in some photos with her whole family which I know are going to be such a special thing for them all to have.
Most larger group photos that I see feel pretty simple and upright and a little bit cold or distant, Thats not how I want my work to feel so I went into this extended family session with the goal of creating larger group photos that felt just as natural and connected and immersed as the smaller family session I did with Natasha and Jarrod originally. I am happy to say that I believe that I did succeed in that. Even though there are more than double the amount of people in these photos, and I had to be further away from them to make them, through the use of layering and some creative positioning I think that I was still able to make the photos feel close and friendly and the loving energy of these people can easily be felt.
If you, like Natasha’s mum are interested in my work and would like to have your own family photos taken by me and you are in the Byron Bay area or on the Gold Coast please contact me for a quote and lets make it happen. :) Thanks - Jake
